Smyrna, TN - TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center announced George Palatsakis, physical therapist, as the first recipient of the R.O.S.E. Award, short for Recognition of Service Excellence award. The R.O.S.E. Award was championed by Kristy Coleman, Certified Nuclear Medical Technician, and the Employee Advisory Group (EAG) to recognize full-time, non-nursing health professionals or ancillary support employees of TriStar StoneCrest for their performance, dedication and diligence in carrying out their duties and in advancing the goal and mission of the hospital.

"The R.O.S.E Award celebrates those unsung heroes who work tirelessly to provide the best possible service to all the patients of TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center." stated Coleman who also serves as chairperson for the EAG. "The R.O.S.E. Award employee recognition program identifies employees who serve as role models to the community, demonstrate a high degree of teamwork, positive attitude and reinforce TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center's WE ARE values and mission of being committed to the care and improvement of human life. We are excited to see the implementation come to fruition."

R.O.S.E Award nominations can be made by patients, visitors, vendors, co-works or members of leadership.

Palatsakis received the R.O.S.E. Award after being nominated by his co-workers at the facility. He has been a faithful employee for more than 12 years where he serves as a physical therapist. Palatsakis' co-workers expressed that he is a highly dedicated professional who is passionate about this patients, committed to providing the highest quality of care, and willing to go above and beyond for his department and the hospital in any way he can. They also said Palatsakis continually set high standards for himself and his patients, which have led to his receiving dozens of letters and comments from patients praising about his great customer service and compassion.

"George truly embodies great character and integrity while living out the HCA mission of commitment to the care and improvement of human life of the patients he serves," said Jeff Johnson, director of physical medicine and outpatient rehabilitation at TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center. "He leads by example in his daily attention to delivering the highest quality of care. He cares deeply about the quality of care that our hospital delivers and is the type of faithful clinician which makes this hospital great! George is truly worthy of being the first recipient of our R.O.S.E. Award."

Palatsakis was presented with a certificate of recognition, plaque and additional gifts among his supervisors and colleagues during the first R.O.S.E. Award reception.
