Smyrna, Tenn. (January 6, 2015) - TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center will host a free community health and wellness informational seminar to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease on Fri., Jan. 16, 2015, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m at the North Rutherford YMCA in the Activity Room.
A member of the Alzheimer's Association will lead discussion about various aspects of the disease including the 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s disease, the Basics of Alzheimer's and Caregiver Stress.
About 5.2 million people in the U.S. – including 110,000 in Tennessee - are living with Alzheimer’s disease according to the 2014 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures report. The report also notes that Tennessee has the fifth highest Alzheimer’s death rate in America at 2,440 deaths in 2010.
This seminar is free but seating is limited and registration is required.
